Computer Problems

None of the Windows machines can be used to connect for the moment.
The computer I was connecting with since last October may be dying;
it was the one I’ve been using to do artwork as well.

My “monster unit”, the dual core, has no 64-bit capable connection
hardware that works. My ISP is making me jump through hoops doing
diagnostics because they simply don’t want to replace my router;
they even had me take the face plate off of my phone jack in order
to plug the router into a repairman’s test socket. Well, on Monday
I can tell them even that didn’t work; so they can replace or I may
be looking for a new ISP.

I’m now accessing the Net through my bandwidth-constrained second
account; 3GB/mo through a wireless dongle-modem, which is connected
to a Mac laptop. I’ll be taking it back upstairs when I’m done, as
laptops left downstairs in the living room tend to get “killed”; I’m
not willing for this to happen to my b-day present! The VAIO will
most likely be sent out for repair next week. (Must remember to tell
the shop no data must be lost!)

So…if I disappear for a week or so, everyone will now know why!
