Thank you. . .

RedBubble. . .

Not that long ago, my sister sent me an e-mail asking me to take a look at the photography she had uploaded to a site called ‘redbubble.com’. Well, hey, she is my sister and I do actually love her, so of course I took a look.

Clare and I have not been physically close for a good many years but there is a closeness that kilometres cannot separate. I look up to my ‘big sister’ and feel that I have done so since becoming a teenager and that was a very long time ago.

Sometimes I worried about how she felt about her ‘no-hoper’ younger brother. Me being someone that spent more time ‘off his face’ on a variety of different ‘illicit’ substances. Someone who never married or produced (to knowledge) any offspring. Someone who drifted through life, changing jobs and never getting anywhere.

But, if I know that anyone in this world accepts me completely as I am, then I am sure that is Clare.

So. . .

I took a look at her work and was duly impressed. But I have to say I expected to be so, as Clare was always the talented one, playing a number of musical instruments, painting and other creative arts. I have 2 ‘originals’ by Clare hanging with pride on my wall. Whereas, me, I was always know as ‘cack-handed’ and ‘fumble fingers’ guaranteed to paint outside the lines. . .

But. . .

I discovered computers, I discovered the ‘backspace’ and ‘delete’ keys. I discovered the ‘copy’ and ‘paste’. I discovered a way to get the thoughts and images that have always been in my mind into a kind of reality I could share.

Believe me, if I were writing this without the aid of my Mac, it would be completely unintelligible.

So. . .

I thought that maybe, I could try sharing some of my thoughts and images here on RedBubble as well.

I uploaded some images and words and was surprised. I started to get some comments from people I had never met before. Some of them made me think and feel that they saw some of the same things that I did.

Wow. . .

This is really good. It made me want to do better, to try and reproduce those illusive images in my mind.

But not only that, I saw images from others that blew me away. Like, wow, that’s fantastic.

I read words that made me catch my breath and brought a tear to my eye.

Now, I log on to RedBubble 1st thing every morning and check back a number of times each day.

There are people here that I feel may become my friends. . .

So, I want to thank you Clare.

And thank you to Redbubble.

But more than that, I want to thank those that have commented on my designs and my words.

Thank you so much, my new friends. . .

Thank you. . .
