ArtMatic Voyager . . .
The first colonists had no idea what they would encounter, so they built their colony ships accordingly.
When a planet was chosen, there would be no going back, there would be no change of mind, it would be all or nothing.
When the landfall option was taken, the colony ship would take it’s last short journey, from orbit to it’s final resting place down below.
Designed so that the greatest proportion of the ship would dig itself deep into the planets crust, a colony ship leaves just a small highly armoured portion visible above the surface.
Here we see the final resting place of the HMAS Bundaberg. Eighty years after landing, the Bundaberg is still the energy supplier and central focus for the city of New Brisbane, a thriving community of some 8,000,000 people.

MAGIC..WISH I HAD HALF YOUR IMAGINATION!
Thank you joak, it comes from 40+ years of reading scifi and fantasy . . . :-D
Loving what you are doing with AMV – fabulous image and story :D
Thank you Angela, this story came so quickly, as soon as I saw the draft image I knew the story . . .
it looks so real so am I missing something? as this is so good and so splendid my friend with love always Normaje.
Thank you Norma-Jean, I’m glad you like my alternate realities . . . :-D
Glad there will be somewhere to go ….all is not lost ! awesome image and description Hugh
Thanks Trudi, I for one see this kind of thing as the future for the human species . . .
fabulous work
Thank you Irene, I wonder what slightly less advanced intelligent species will make of us when we get around to visiting them on their home worlds . . . :-D
interesting …. I think we might scare the hell out of them, and then if they were very less advanced than us….probably worship us as gods
Hopefully by then, we will be enlightened enough not to take advantage of them . . .
very beautiful work
Thank you Antanas . . .
Excellent image and story Hugh! Lets hope Man doesn’t go down the same road and contaminate the New World has they did this one. Awesome work Hugh as always:)))))
Thanks Graham, I’m not so sure of the contamination of this one. I don’t think the planet is anywhere near as fragile as many might think. If it can shrug off being hit by a giant meteor and loose 90+% of all life, then it can shrug off the effects of mere humans, once it’s got rid of the humans, of course . . . lol
An impressive, and terrific, creation!!!!Bill
Thank you Bill . . .
Could be a lot of fun inside there, well done Hugh.
Thanks Rich, a whole world inside there. Well, at least it was for the 1,000,000 colonists on their 600 year journey . . .
