Favourite Food Disappointing

The rose of forgiveness
Like each same old morning
Tempts my transient eyes
Favourite food disappointing

I wander, I thirst, already filled
Captured by shadows against their will
I keep both feet from running to hate
Weeds by the water and the wild cat’s moan
My head revolving, almost on straight
Confusion built up until I can hold my own
I keep on climbing, already over the hill
Clinging closely to my license to kill
And to my telephone

Fear departs me gracefully
Mercy starving me in fresh air
I’m lost as far as I can see
With no friends, no enemies
I’m bound for Mount Misery
And I will no doubt finally see you there
