Trivial Pursuit

Go ahead and roll the dice again I don’t care
Why are you so happy chasing
Pieces which can’t be caught
Risking nothing but human dignity
I’m tired of going round in circles
Global trends and fashions picked out
While our silly questions go unquestioned
Too cynical and plain to breathe
The answers just facts and figures that lead nowhere
Dressed up in expensive clothes and fake smiles
Little victories valued so highly
The bigger picture is lost entirely
Don’t you know the truth can’t be photographed?
I see your inner circle is filled with different colours
But can’t you see the emptiness inside?
I know another game that has done away with luck
One with no beginning and no end, peaceful, free of envy
Guess I’ll have to wait here patiently on the floor
Well after you close up the box
And go back from whence you came
Keeping my room clean and well worked
Full of hope and meaning, good ideas bound to fail
Offering assistance to any one that knocks at the door
Until the game of life is played by all.
