Lux Helsinki brings light to the darkest time of the year. This free-of-charge city event presents light installations and art performances.

Senate Square by Matti Jylhä; rubix express
The inspiration for the light installation “rubix express” is the famous 3D mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernö Rubik.
The light installation utilizes changes and movement in light and incorporates music that was especially composed for the work. The popular cube is taken to a whole new dimension in Lux Helsinki – 125,000 regular Rubik’s Cubes could fit inside the cube of light.
