When I saw this man painting a church wall, I just knew that I could use a photograph of him for my own ends. Here, I have him appearing to be painting one of my old pieces of artwork, onto a wall.
I can remember the days when people said, with utter conviction that “the camera never lies”; they said this, even though from the very beginning of photography, photographers had been manipulating their photographs. Way back when we only had black and white photographs (that is unless you wanted to pay out a fortune), I used to help my brother, with photography dyes, to colour his black and white portrait images, and by colouring over some skin blemishes, to good effect.
There must be a group for this kind of artwork, but I am not sure that there is; perhaps someone could tell me?
All images used are my own.
