In Vino Veritas

Veritas

Let me sip you from the tallest of glass. It matters not, if you’re red or white.
Your smell, your essence, they bring my soul to my thought’s version of paradise.
Your spirit carries me, and I soar like the wind that blurs the desert to naught.
And you flow like a careless river amidst the roughness of the earth.
But you know nothing of the sweetness you could bring.
Bottled up, you remain isolated from the truth, from this world
I once called my own.
So let me consume some spirit that remains within, and let it control me.
No longer afraid of what may befall, in consequence of my desire.
I will fall, weak and unstable, thoughts blurred, struggling though unable.
I will lose restraint, my mind losing decency, numbed from pain.

I shall face my suffering, without any doubt.
Because nothing, nothing could ever compare,
To the misery that warps your vision,
The fear the alters your very core.

I’ll drink for us,
As I know, I will not be hurt.
Because in wine there is no truth
