Naked Before You

Lord I lay here prostrate unto you, naked before you.
You know my every being, from the number of hairs on my head, down to my toes;
There’s nothing about me you don’t know.
So, I come naked before you with my downsittings and uprising;
I lay before your altar the gift of thanksgiving, thanking you God for your forgiving,
My past sins you remember no more; You’ve allowed me to start life all over again.
In the midst of the storms you’ve been my closest friend.
You don’t judge me based on what I have, the color of my skin, if I’m to fat or to thin.
I can come naked before you and not have to worry about any of my flaws.
Lord I love you for who you are, Lord I love you because I’m yours;
How considerate you are of me, Lord I love spending time with you;
Basking in your presence, your ways so excellent.
Like a summer day on the beach, I’m skinny dippin;
Laying prostrate unto you and naked before you;
There’s no need to hold anything back, All that I’m doing,
All that I’m thinking, All that I’m feeling, God you know.
With honesty and humility, Naked I come before thee.
