I Saw a Man Tonight

Michael, Emory’s father, bought her lots of wonderful things for Christmas tonight. He was cordial, sweet, attentive, and very loving to her. He offered emotional assistance to my disposition and we had a very wonderful time as a family

And he acted like a man.

Tonight in the store, I touched base with an old friend that I had not too long ago thought could be a lot more than that. He was rude disinterested, and let me know without saying a word that anything, friendship or otherwise between him and I was done.

And he acted like a boy.

It’s so strange how things pan out. Someone who was once a complete and utter piece of shit can step up and fulfill his fatherly duties without complicating matters or making things awkward.

It’s so strange how someone that you look up to and think of as more than a friend can turn their back and walk away without a word or explanation.

It’s funny.

Life’s funny.

And I am amused.
