Whenever I look at a sunset, I can’t help but think “wow, the colours and resolution on this sunset are really amazing”. That just goes to show what kind of person I am. Some of my favourite sunsets were those 8-bit sunsets from that old computer game Scorched Earth. It was basically just stripes of colours with tanks in front of it.
I thought I’d try creating a sunset on my iPad using the Sketches app. If you upgrade to the premium version, you get this great effect with the watercolour tool that lets you blend colours together as if the ink was wet. Then I just put a yellow circle on it for the sun, drew a city skyline with a monster eating it with the pen tool and exported it. I thought it wasn’t quite finished yet, so I imported it into Snapseed and used the Grunge filter to add a bit of texture.
Then of course I had to muck about with Photoshop to get the transparent background and adjust the size for Redbubble products because life isn’t easy. If you’d like to make my life slightly easier, you can buy this fabulous design on a mug or a t-shirt or something. I promise Godzilla will spare your house in the coming apocalypse.
