Born March 15, 1969. Born in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture. Started learning calligraphy at the age of 4 under the guidance of his father, Owa Mugai. Studied architecture at Tohoku University Faculty of Engineering and joined Taisei Corporation in 1993. Left the company in December 2003 and founded "Hitofudeya, a calligraphy design shop" in September 2004. Currently a member of Garyu-kai (Utsunomiya). Self-proclaimed first-class architect and calligrapher.
