It has a little while since my last updated. Architectural profession and family had consumed a lot of my life.

I am more active on Instagram lately. If you see anything you like there, I am happy to load the image on redbubble for you to purchase. Just let me know which image.

It has been a long time that I haven’t posted here, as my professional life takes over as well as a new born child at home.
I hope to spend more time creating contents here. Reprioritising time…

Thankyou

Update on my recent activity

My architectural work load has increased lately, and I had less time with the love of photography. The redbubble site remains a good reference for potential clients to see and purchase my prints and it had brought my little hobby some assignments and income for the gear to make more images.

I am glad that some of these images are licensed for website branding use, while others images had went into books for illustration purpose. I am truly grateful for such appreciation, knowing other people value the images.

Hope to share more with this audience, and thanks for those who comments and supported this adventure.

15 months with Micro Four Third System

I have spend 15 months with Micro Four Third System so far. The journey has been liberating. I was first attracted the the compact factor of the Panasonic DMC-GF1 camera, and the smaller size interchangable lenses.…

Soon after the purchase, I realise that there are many adaptors available on the Micro Four Third mount to adapt lenses with manual settings. I am soon addicted to the second hand camera markets and the “treasure hunting” of old lenes.

There is a good selection of affordable, large aperture manual lenses that suits my style of photography, and I am enjoying the manual settings quite a bit. I see the world quite differently with each of the lenses, and love that altering new point of view.

This new year I will focus on exploring the strengths and weaknesses of my new tools a

On Family Portraits

On the subjects that I listed on redbubble, they are typically of still life on architecture or landscape. In fact that has been my focus for the last couple of years.

I love taking pictures of people, especially for close friends and families. Recently a friend has commissioned me to take a set of family portrait for him, and that was a wonderful experience. The choice of lens focal length is quite different, and the interactions with people is great fun. Getting the attention of 2 young kids are not easy at all!

Between 50-100mm (35mm eq.) seems to be the best focal length to work with on this occasion. The framing with the various angles of sunlight/daylight is so interesting. I think I am in love with portraiture again.

Almost X'mas

Over the course of this year, I have taken a lot of photos. Mostly of my son, and a lot of experiments on other subjects. Hopefully I’ll find time to sort them out and post some here. Thanks for all of you who has visited my site and supported my by comments and purchases. Thankyou from the bottom my heart.

Trying new lenses

I am trying out the lensbaby tilt transformer. It transforms standard Nikon F mount lenses into tilt lens on my GF1. I will practice on elective focus photos!

Feels like a little kid with a new toy.
