Free-fall

The stairs beneath my feet move quicker and quicker.
I don’t even think I’m running,
But the voices call towards me.
Beckoning.
Torturing.
I look around at the faces beside me,
Running down through the spiraling staircase.
I can’t stop my feet from running with these people.
Their’s a space to jump off.
It’s small and coming now.
Should I jump into the unknown?
Should I break away from the crowd and start my own path?
If I jump I live how I’d like.
I’m taking the chance now.
And there’s no turning back.

Free-fall
