Artist's Description

Dutch design, Gothic style Victorian building. What a mixture. It was originally the town council offices, but they had a new one built in the next town and we had to fight hard to keep the building from being torn down. It is now our local Library it houses 2 theatres, one a stage theatre the other a cinema, several conference rooms, and art gallery, Tourist information and a restaurant, as well as a room where tea dances are held every Tuesday. The whole place is dedicated to the memory of Stan Laurel who lived in the town, and went to the local Grammar school. I think his proper name was Stanley Jefferson, his father ran the local theatre., which was torn down.
Next to it on the right of the picture is St Annes Church
Sorry it is not a better picture, I should have done things to it.
