Kiss me slowly

I know you see me walking
like I have something to prove
but there’s nothing, really,
nothing but you,
so kiss me slowly,
under the blanket of night
until dew drops form
on your lips in the light;
until I have memorized
every change and line
between each touch
in your lovely smile.

It’s the time that makes us hurt
and things we hold will surely fade
but I’d never wish for this to change
so kiss me slowly
through the day.
Lights and colors will die away
and while falling through
unending gray
all I’d ever care to say
is kiss me slowly;
ease the pain.

I think that I might love you dear;
it scares me half to death
but when you kiss me
oh so slowly
I forget all the rest.
The problems that tear me apart
are lost inside my beating heart;
after a kiss
as sweet as this
a breath of bliss
is just the start.

So…
if I may implore
kiss me slowly,
close the door,
come back to me
and just ignore
the world
because I am all yours.

Kiss me slowly
