NOW

The single syllable rings out like something foreboding in her small mind that is always thinking of yesterdays and the times when she actually had him under her grasp. Constantly procrastinating, the thought of this instant, this moment in time as she inhales and exhales…just terrifies her. She is apprehensive of this new resolution of carpe diem just because of this simple fact: she can’t get over the past and it’s haunting her because all the little things are weeding their way into all the corners of her head and it’s really all the little things that make us all crack. How can you focus on the present when every direction you turn, is your mistake yesterday and the year before and that time in kindergarten when you asked him if you could play and he sneered at you? And the emotions, they still remain, ringing in your head, clear as the dirge of your best friend’s funeral yesterday? Relative to time, it’s all relative to that one instant. So just get over it and think of now! Clutching your head, ruining the next few seconds…passing…again. Such a sinner, sinner, sinner, whiner. This is the ultimate sin. Not realizing what you have and what you could achieve NOW.
