Artist's Description

These students are looking for small
round and shallow holes that have been
cut into the lid of this megalithic grave.
There are supposed to be 11 of them
but there is so much litchen that
they are hard to discover…
The rock carvings of the Bronze Age
abound with those shallow holes, that
have been known to be filled with
a needle or with butter as an offering
to the Goddess, into our time!
The Goddess much appreciated in
the Viking era was Frigga, meaning
“beloved”. She may be seen as the mother
or perhaps one and the same as Freyja.
The name Freyja means “The Wife”
or “The Revered Woman”.
