Daughters Thoughts

Roses are red and sometimes yellow
Pink, orange, purple and marshmallow
Carnations are colourfully speckled
A bit like the way I am freckled

The parts of me that are not you
Are what makes me an individual
And in my own hands I make
All of my own mistakes

And though you may think I will live a lonely life
With no man or no child to make things right
I take your hand when I need you
And you know I am there for you too.

The hugs we share
Wild without a care
Give me my share
Of my fresh air

Thank you for being my friend
I will love you without an end
