Artist's Description

This is yet another hand pulled monoprint from my Corroboree Frog series of prints. This print was created using a number of print layers and then finer outline detail with white ink was drawn on when the print had dried.

The Corroboree Frog is a critically endangered Australian male frog that is found at altitudes above 1000metres above sea level. The male frog builds nest chambers in damp mossy areas and guards the eggs. There are only two species of Corroborree frogs, the northern and southern, and they live in the alpine areas. The Southern Corroborree frog is now found only in a 10 square kilometre section of the the Kosciuszko National Park in Australia’s Snowy Mountains area, the northern Corroborree frog inhabits an area of about 550square kilometres. You can read more about these lovely little frogs at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corroboree_frog.
