Artist's Description

The Columbian tall ship, or more accurately, the Barque “Gloria”, is a sail training ship which entered Sydney Harbour on 30 August 2009.

She was greeted at Sydney Heads by the 1874 iron Barque “James Craig”, owned and operated by Sydney Hertiage Fleet, as well as the Barquentine “Svanen”, now re-named “Southern Swan” (“Svanen” means swan in Swedish, which is where she was registered when she came out to Australia with the First Fleet Re-enactment in 1988).
