My home is in the country

My home is in the country, it stands upon a hill
I blew in on the wind, and I stay here still
The years have come, and the years have gone
Green has turned to brown
My life has passed but still I watch, as the sun goes down

My home is in the country, here amongst the grass
I had an army tall and strong, before time did pass
The sun has shone, and the moon has waned
Friends have gone missing
My home still stands here, by the winds blessing

My time will come, as it surely must
Blown aloft, with the summer dust
But until that day I will stand
And always be proud, for my life was lived
In my home here in the country

My home is in the country

Artist's Description

Inspired by my surrounds, here in Albury NSW. An example of the country os shown here

Dead trees lotter the landscape and always make me wonder about there past. The ones that remain standing even many years after they have died represent pride and determination to me.
