Artist's Description

The Bremen market square is located in the Centre of the Hanseatic City and is one of the oldest public squares in Bremen. On the good 3,484 m2 open space into five roads and to join two more seats, no market nowadays takes place. Exceptions are the Christmas and the small market. By locals, the marketplace is also called “gute Stube” of the city. The place is a protected cultural heritage under the Hague Convention.

The Bremen Town Hall is one of the most important buildings of the Gothic and Weser Renaissance in Europe. Since 1973, it is listed. In July 2004, it was declared humanity together with the Bremen Roland of the UNESCO world cultural heritage site. The building is the seat of the Senate and the President of the Senate and Mayor of the free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
