Words That Kill

Ventilated anger
Thundering words
Ready to kill and hurt
Lighting up the skies
Energy from within
Earthquakes arising
Howling hurricane winds
Dragons flying out their caves
Devouring with fire
As she-wolf pounces at her prey
Hungry for revenge

Shouted out to the four winds
I had been wronged and betrayed
By my closest friend.

No benefit of the doubt

Friend, Friend, Oh my dearest Friend

Two hearts are now broken
Friendship broken
Her spoken words
Hit their mark
The strongest weapon
Used for attack
Pierces deeper than a knife
An arrow,
My sword.
Cheap shot
A stab in the back

Friend, Friend, Oh my dearest Friend
I’m so sorry,
A cliché
A phrase with no real meaning
Sorry, but sorry is a sorry word

Slowly he turns around
Hurt in his eyes
Softly kisses my cheek
Softly says “I’m sorry that
Had to end this way”
Softly killing me
With soft nine words
Which ripped my insides
My heart
My daggers swords and arrows
Now used against me
Goodbye my friend
Another kiss in the cheek

Anger vanishing
Wrath flying into the wind
Surprised eyes wide open
Banshee screaming
Tears pouring down
Caught unguarded
Hitting home
Killed softly
Beloved friend lost
Mortally wounded

Words hurt, they cut in deep
But I wonder what hurt him the most
My hateful words
Or just the fact that they came from me.

Before the phoenix arises
From his ashes
Before he brightens the world
Bringing bright lights of hope
I will not say “I’m sorry”
“I only ask for your forgiveness”.
Two free phoenixes will bond

Artist's Description

Friendship is a gift that we all should appreciate.
It is hard to find a good and true friend.
Words can uplift, sooth, calm and nurture or they could sting, inflict pain, incite anger and kill the spirit. Relationships can be broken for they engrave themselves into a human’s heart.
I am a person that tries to be discreet and bite my tongue whenever possible. I also try to be considerate to others but there have been times………..
I spitted out words that I now regret thinking that I was being used. Hope there will be forgiveness.
