Artist's Description

The Melba Finch is a small (length: 12 – 14 cm) colorful bird that easily catches the eye when it moves around between thickets and shrubs. Especially the male is distinctive, with a red face, yellow-green breast and speckled belly.
The usual melba found in Africa; South of the Sahara and is widespread in southern Africa, excluding the Cape south of the Orange River and the Free State borders.
I saw this cute little bird at Môreson, near Musina in the Limpopo province in South Africa.
