Artist's Description

Northern “Bullock’s” Oriole – icterus galbula – This Western version of what is now known as the Northern Oriole is bright orange with black markings on his head and chin. His song is clear and sounds similar to a flute. He is found throughout the United States and select southern portions of Canada.

Northern Oriole’s are migrating birds with their population almost entirely overwintering in western Mexico.

Bird is highly detailed in the full resolution image with highlight in eye which may not be seen in lower res. copyprotected image shown on site.
