Artist's Description

I don’t think a baby could ever be so loved. This is my beautiful niece Mika, born on the 7th of February 2008.
My brother and his wife had been pregnant the year before Mika was conceived, though they had to terminate due to the baby’s intestines forming outside his body. My sister-in-law was quite a way into her pregnancy. It was a heart wrenching experience for the entire family. My brother & sister-in-law live over in Singapore for work, so they had no family close by. We all sent our love and prayers to them day & night. We spoke to them almost daily and we all slowly got on with life. In the mean time, my other brother’s girlfriend fell pregnant accidently. At the time it just seemed horrible. On one hand we had my brother & his wife desperate for a baby, and the other we had an accidental pregnancy. My brother’s girlfriend decided to keep the baby, which is a blessing because she gave birth to my other beautiful niece Chile Grace. Then a few months later we got the news we’d all been hoping for, my sister-in-law was pregnant again. My entire family waited to hear if she was in the clear. Sure enough after each of her ultrasounds we were reassured that ‘Little Miss’ as we called her, was doing just perfectly. Then on Thursday February 7th we got the news that baby Mika had been born. I don’t think I’ve ever been happier. She means the world to me, as does Chile. I would give up everything for these beautiful girls.
