Artist's Description

The Artist Sir James Thornhill, who decorated the inside of the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral, was commissioned to decorate the Hall, which was intended as a dining hall for the sailors. He started work in 1708 and did not finish until nineteen years later in 1727.
