Artist's Description

In the category of Performance Art. I started developing this character in the mid-nineties— she was based on several crazy ladies that I watched wandering around the city or hanging out at the public library (nice restrooms!).

Glinka is a famous 19th-century Russian composer btw; he was a big influence on Tchaikovsky.

At first Madame G. was much more— um— scattered, with various things being dragged around or attached to her. A glittery shopping-bag lady. As her meds improved, she got her act together to an extent. But as you can see by this photo, she still has AN EDGE.
