Artist's Description

This memorial is located on Mount Scott, Geraldton, Western Australia, overlooking the City and the Indian Ocean where HMAS Sydney II fought its last battle and was sunk in November 1941 with the loss of all 645 men. The figure represents the one of the wives looking out to sea in the hope of seeing them return.
