I come to the city
and the city is all I be,
I wish to go beyond,
But I got city under my feet,
I hope to be patient
Life in the city is all I see,
So thats all I can write of
then I get lost among the faces of the sea,
So the city is cold
and the weather too,
Work hard
Earn a bread or two,
In this mental asylum
I am trying to remain sane,
I have been here since 4 years
Still feels foreign
And that is coz
the rain keeps pouring,
Sun shines, winds blow
And I see the city breathe,
A bully for new comers
like a failure to a newbie,
find you seat or stand and watch
Or its the way you see,
Like the yawn
that makes the city sleep,
Take the subway
It takes the city deep,
My shoulder froze
from all the rubbing,
But I have been told
get used to it, You aint seen nothing
I don’t sit at the back of the bus
But I know they wish I would
And this is Canada, right
Land of the immigrants, can’t be so misunderstood,
And I met people from countries
I never knew existed,
And my geography is pretty good,
I am glad, I could see it,
As acceptance of
other cultures grows,
I just hope
It turns out purposeful,
Take the cultures of the world
put them in a blender,
Now each of them remains tasteless,
I am trying to find
my identity in the world of the faceless
In the land of the opportunity
I barely remain afloat,
Working on minimum wage
How can I even boast?
But I found myself
or I lost myself?
Is that what I wrote?
