The Way Out

As I sit and think,
Of what we used to have,
I look for comfort in the world,
From this ever growing pain.
I look to myself, deep inside,
I find the errors of my ways.

I’m trapped; I’ve nowhere to go.

I look in the mirror frightened to see,
That darkness has come over me.
I reach out my hand and cry for help,
No one has heard my plea.

I’m all alone, in the depths of despair,
Then I see you looking at me.
That’s all I need, for then I know,
Which path has been chosen for me.

I need your safety and your warmth,
I need to feel secure.
You are my light; you are my fire,

You mean the world to me.
