Dawns sweet light

I sat and didn’t ponder,
what on earth was happening over yonder.

For the one sure thing I could count on,
would rise and fall.

As dawns first sweet light began to rise,
I wondered about its demise.

For once I’m gone it will surely be up.
So I will wait perched up on the bluff.

I watched from the rocks at the river mouth,
nothing went south.

The suns demise scares most
as dark is a lonely host.
