Artist's Description

Inspired by the warm sun the smell of the jonquils as i picked them and the silence of the forest, Derwent Ink blocks

She gathers flowers attempting to rid herself of the empty vesselness she wallows in. Jonquils, yellow and cream, the warm sun pen it traits the many layers of clothing and she imagines herself an onion, pausing letting the warmth seep deep into the tissues of her being the breeze against her cheek forces her to stop.
Thinking a reality she was, warming through, not just seeing the flowers now but smelling them as the sun warms them also, raising them to her face, inhaling deeply… a memorable scent. It evokes in her an overwhelming sense, of wellness. How strange? she thinks this feeling, breaching her warm cocoon is a thunderous noise it ethos from behind the house deep down into the valley, a vibration in the earth and the realization of what she is about to witness takes only a moment to break the enchantment of the jonquils. Again the earth vibrates no noise this time and now it is perfectly still. As she steps excitedly around the corner, the sky blue blue blue captures her, oh God she sighs, the view through the stockmans route, stops her breath and there, right there, she sees it, and in that moment it was reaching for the heavens, tall strong, vunurable overwhelms her.
Silence.
Then the slightest breeze ever so warm………….washes over her and it was falling.
Felled by the softest breeze, now it lays at the bottom of the forest and the decomposition process begins, the phone rings, she hears that also, disturbing her.
Good afternoon Elands Asylum for the sane, she is greeted with tremendous laughter and a heartfelt, “you have made my day’ then “ I am not selling anything.”
