My name is David Webb and I have been drawing for over 30 years. My artwork is highly influenced by American animation and the realms of fantasy and science fiction. My favorite subjects have been nature and beauty.

Ironically, I began my art career by tracing Garfield comics when I was in elementary school. I moved from this into creating my own characters and found I had a knack for it. In middle school, I swore off any type of plagiarism and worked heavily on developing my own comic series, Frizzy & the Comets, which I would love to see published one day. I worked on the newspaper staff throughout high school, drawing a short comic called “Lucky & Jinx” for the weekly paper, as well as drawings for the yearbooks.

Upon graduation, I took graphic design classes from the local college. I designed t-shirt designs for bars in the area and was able to connect with several rock bands, for whom I designed t-shirts, business cards & fliers. I started drawing fairies in 2001, after a friend introduced me to the works of Brian Froud. I became fascinated with fantasy artwork and felt like I had found my niche. I worked full-time throughout these years, drawing only in my spare time. I did some commission work for co-workers and friends, always dreaming of one day being able to support myself with my artwork.

I am married to Heather, one of my oldest and best friends, and I am father to two lovely young ladies and a very energetic preschool girl. We live a simple life and try to appreciate the small wonders that surround us. I would have never stepped out into the world with my artwork without their support and strength.

I use graphite, pencil, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, ink and oil pastels to create my original artwork. I experiment with new materials as the urge strikes, but always come back to my favorites.

My art blog can be found online at GraphiteWeb.com. I am always open for custom work and commissions. You can contact me with questions or to purchase custom artwork at artistwebb@gmail.com.

Thank you for your interest! :)
