Winter Verse

I want to write you a winter verse like
lilies melting through the pond,
and spring’s spirit coming out to play,
and maypole romance ruling the day

I want to write you a melody much like
sweet leaves softly floating and
waterfalls dancing, trickling, over
the maiden curves of giggling girls

Flowing smoothly and near perfection
to express my deepest, true affection,
and get to you, across the doubt,
that you are my dark swan

You make the eyes open to see the
light and the clarity of my heart, whose
unspeakable verses proliferate the
night with obscene legitimacy

So the intangible feelings and
the intricate, inextricable thoughts
are woven in skin-deep patterns
and glorified for the right spots

I’m writing you this winter verse
To simply say what I cannot:
My singular and most magnificent
Love has executed my epiphany
