Artist's Description

The Plain of Jars is also the most heavily bombed area in the history of the world. A plane load of bombs was dropped on this area every 8 minutes for 9 years in the seventies, in what is now known as the ‘Secret War’. Many unexploded bombs remain, and will not be cleared for many years. Local farmers have started a cottage industry making spoons and jewellery from the aluminum cases of exploded bombs.
