Artist's Description

This is a collaboration between my wife, Sandy and I. I draw the original work in pen and ink then she either inks or watercolors it. This is a drawing of an actual mill hamlet as it appeared in the late 1800’s. Using my skill to portray the scene as a birds-eye-view, I show many of the elements of the hamlet such as the steel bridge, mill, store, log home, headrace, paddle wheel and the creek as it really once appeared. Then I added the final touch by making it a “Living Scene A Century or Two Ago,” with people and horses pulling wagons.
