Blind

Come with me,
As I set the scene,
From a past of grieve we have now arrived to a darker shade,
From gloomy days to darkness we made,
We are the darkness in the sky
Instead of the stars that shine, why!
Killing ourselves as those who play Russian roulette,
Kids are disowned all because their dads they have not met,
Yet you say you’re not black,
“You don’t sag, nor do you brag”
Ignorance is the key to our lack,
It was in the church that we made our plea,
In the church that we designed our plans to be free,
We sought out freedom through peace remember my race,
Now violence is the case so were faced with disgrace,
“I have a dream” Martin Luther King said,
So for a while we walked in our sleep in the land of the dead,
From whence did we fall?
For we are now no different from them all,
Sleeping with our eyes open squinting scuffing looking mean,
Hoping for something we see when hope is better shown when you believe.
