I’ve only ever heard of a Mockingbird in a song. I didn’t know there was really such a bird.
I think the song may have been called Mockingbird Hill?
Really, growing up in S, FL they are the most numerous birds. Racous, noisy, dive-bombing you if you go anywhere near the nest. Making all sorts of annoying noises. They are fierce and will practically chase anything. Walking the dog, felt something hit me in the head. Looked around then up, darn bird was hovering waiting for another strike!
We have Magpies that can behave like that at nesting time. :)
Dang pesky critters. Now I’m going to have to look up a magpie. Made my aunt break her leg or something like that many a year ago!
