This was taken on a boat ramp in the small Scottish port of Dunbar. The title is stolen from a song I very much savour by Elliot Smith and seemed appropriate when I think of how I took this shot with my usual wet feet, hoping my camera would not ‘go down’! there……

beautiful work
funkybunch, gosh that was very quick! but thank you anyway…..
Sooooo WONDERFUL!!!
Jean, your far to kind! thank you…
It’s shots like this that take seascape photography into an artform – it takes skill, experience and confidence to see a potentially interesting image (and then produce one) when there is essentially no focal point. Most people would just walk by, that’s what takes it above the ordinary.
Donald thanks for your kind and considered words! I think we see the world with similar eyes and sure you would have taken this shot! I have to say I was more than a little worried about the tripod sliding down into the sea so it was not a relaxing shoot!
As Donald just said, most people would have walked bye and missed this image.
Excellent work… :)
Richard thank you, I spend quite a bit of time by a shoreline looking out to sea, so when I see some foreground interest I will always try a shot, sometimes they work sometimes not!
Fantastic work Glenn – really like this. Totally agree with above comments and that sky is so powerful! Can’t wait to see the print of this …
Cheers mate! looks like i need to print this one?
Nice work
Richard, good to hear from you, thank you!
Not being a fisherman I didn’t understand why they sat there all day hoping for a catch now I see why they sit and watch, this takes me away from all my troubles relaxes and rejuvenates me, the peace and calming look to this image is up lifting. as a mono image it’s strength lies in the three bands of different textures great lead in topped of with a quality sky. do I like it ?
Its strange but I understand your feelings on fishing, but have found with spending so much time by the sea it has such a calming influence. This is irrespective of the state of the weather and applies to both stormy and calm days, can’t explain it?
Its funny that you mentioned the triple banding, as I was not sure if this broke up the image, but now quit like it.
lovely;)
Well thank you kind sir!
Beautiful shot Glenn
Garth, thank you……glad you like it!
Sharon, humbled as ever by your support! thank you very kindly….
