Bright Side Baby

Quietly gasped in – reflection
Of born love – of
Your eyes – of my lips
Do we yet believe it?
Oh – life was not fully lived
Until the silhouette of him fit – on our faces

I sat months ago- wondering
What of – my immaturity
Will it all fade away?
And when he was placed
Inside my arms – he replaced it
- Foolishness- night
– His birth-day

For it had no place – I grew- in one second
I bore – a being- that would only
Get the best of me – no matter the conflict
In my day – he would laugh
He would play –he would not know any trouble
For in older years he will see – it’s there

But for now
I believe it is my favor – and in his

To make sure that he hasn’t a care
