Mother Earth

I looked out through my window
At the grass so tall and green
And the oak tree by the barn
The best I’ve ever seen
Each acorn that it grows
Could be another tree
Does beauty start so small
Just like you and me

Each petal on a flower
So pretty and so bright
Opens out every day
And goes to sleep at night
It feeds the bees with nectar
The food that’s made for gods
And we can buy it off the shelf
In glass jars shaped like pods

I never cease to wonder at the beauty
I never cease to wonder at the world

The hedgerows by the roadside
The fruit that we all eat
The trees that give us air
To make our heart tick beat
The water that we drink
Which comes down from the sky
The sun that heats our body
To help our life go by

The sea on which we sail
With fish that live within
The vastness of the ocean
Where did they first begin
Don’t take it all for granted
Preserve it where you can
The wonders of our Mother Earth
Helps Women and helps Man

I never cease to wonder at the beauty
I never cease to wonder at the world
