This is a head shot of a young Whitetail doe born in 2008, out by where I live in Amherst, Virginia, USA. I watched this little one grow along with 2 little twin bucks. This girl lost her mother due to an eye injury when she was still tiny and covered with spots. She would tag along with the twins and their Mom, but the Mom of the twins would not let her nurse. Even so…she did quite well as you can see by this image. She had a fuzzier coat than most of the deer out here had ….so I called her Fuzzy. She was a very curious and funny little doe. It was awesome seeing her and the twins and their Mom every day. They continued to come all through the winter and I would go out and feed them chopped apples and corn. Sometimes peanuts. :)) I was surprized to see snow coming down the morning I took this shot…3-13-09. This was taken just after it stopped snowing and the deer came out. Fuzzy was still a little wet in this shot….but just as cute as ever.

Dedicated to you my beautiful little Fuzzy. I hope you are still out there somewhere.
