First solo exhibition – showing at Off The Kerb, Collingwood!Running for the month of May at Off The Kerb gallery in Collingwood, is my first solo exhibition entitled All The Things She Thinks About. All are welcome to the opening, details are below!
Where does the mind go when we take most of the thinking out of creating and just let our hand guide us? All The Things She Thinks About is an exploration of this theme. Through the meditative process of repetition, various emotions, memories and obscure thoughts are explored. This body of work aims to bring about an awareness of the individual thought process and prompts us to consider the time we dedicate to reflection.
Opening night: Friday May 1, 6-9pm
Exhibition runs until Friday May 29, gallery open Thurs – Sun

The Cry of the Curlew by Peter Watt
The Cry of the Curlew from a fictional novel but based on fact, is very involved ..In the early days of white people occupying and taking over the indigenous people’s land in outback Australia the native aboriginals were considered vermin and there was a determined effort to make them extinct, one way to do this was to poison their waterholes.;hence the two figures in the waterhole.I did this in similar way rock art is drawn, the legend is whenever there is a death the bush curlew cries I haven’t heard one, but they only cry when distressed and apparently the sound is

60 and Beyond"

Dancing In The Dawn Author: Enivea

Standing on top of a hill, a cold wind blowing in our faces.
Standing in the pale dawn light while we wait patiently for the sun to rise.
Standing in the centre of a ‘fairy’ ring of mushrooms.
Standing with a friend who had never before stood and watched the sun rise.
Standing with my dog, who thought the humans so strange.

There is much to commend those
Who break a habit of a lifetime
And rise to the challenge
To experience
A moment

There is something very special
To witness another in that moment
And to feel their wonder as they experience
That which has held humans in wonder over eons.
There is something very special
To witness an event that happens every day
Yet happens only once.

The sun has risen.
It’s light casts long shadows
And we

and another Feature Sea Changes Group"

Moderators Thanks so much ! Gini
In 1966 we, including two small children, packed some clothes into a suitcase, put the dog into a cardboard dog box ,walked out of our freezing cold house in Victoria, leaving furniture most clothes, house and car behind, caught the train to Queensland, bound for our sea change life. the pic here is the reason, no regrets. Beautiful one day wonderful the next.
Naturally I am so passionate about living in the best place in the world.

Retired and Happy [Gini has been interviewed]

If anyone has been across this spot, it’s before Timber Creek on the way to Kununurra W.A. I would love to hear,, as it’s well and truly been upgraded now to a high bridge upstream or downstream?? We were stopped here by 5 of the semitrailer truck tyers flat at once,me watching the growin wet season looking like it would decend on us and washing us away. Never mind about the crocodile watching from a distance.Well I have been told it was only a freshy.

Remember WhenThe group “Remember When”:" is a group primarily for written work but we do allow images if they have a story of more than one line that tells why you view the image as something that makes you remember something from your past.
The group is still small and we would like to invite you to come join and share some of the stories you hold dear in your mind. You do not have to consider yourself an accomplished writer to share your story with us.
