Artist's Description

In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, west of the continental divide and just south of the Canadian border, lies the 2.4 million acre Flathead National Forest. Home to lynx, grizzly bear, and bull trout; with numerous lakes, streams, and rivers to enjoy, the forest is the premiere destination for visitors looking to experience natural landscapes of the American West.
The forest manages four wilderness areas, including the Bob Marshall and Great Bear wildernesses.
The Flathead National Forest is named after the Flathead Native Americans who lived in the area.
Flathead National Forest is located in the national forest’s Northern Region (Region 1).
