Legacy in green
Arbitrator of a dream
Belonging only to me
So it would seem…without sympathy
Cast in shadows to an abundant spring
And, it looks good on me
Bestowing everything
In favor of a complicated love
Past the twilight flies the dove
Yet, to whom this wanderlust should appear
In shimmering dust beyond the clear
Echoes adhere while lavenders undo
A sweet meadow’s bloom
When our laughter rang true
I feel your hand take mine
I look deep into your eyes
A word to the wise wept my comply
Temptation disguised
To not recognize fear the uninformed
Standing at your door we agreed to ignore
As you disappear before me
Brazen lace of those adorn thee
To the ends of the earth…and back again
Held fast to seasons worth and when
We surrender in the end
To the insurgency of green flooding my
Evolving stained glass dream
Serene kaleidoscope of not to be
To taunt the monarchy with tacit plea
And in the bleed
Came to believe in sandcastle walls
And ghosts through the fog
Experienced via the sensory
Too cruel to let go, as time has shown
Précis tableau in sacred stones
Upon velvet behind protective glass
Each one a kiss I can’t release
Drowning in the green
I succumb to the sea
And pray that tomorrow brings tenderly
The long and the winding, again and again
Yet I find myself so often
To false recognition
With a spectral musing scandalous
To a house of cards and gavel his
Consequences unravel, as…
He lives in servitude to yet another womb
As the light of a distant tunnel drew near
He drew the blinds
In taking a wife just to spite
The love of his life
Too sad suffice lies his daunted cohere
Haunted yet sincere
Her artist’s veneer again preys upon
The grace of dawn to late despair
Relentless state of affairs
And no care left unattended
Freedom shattered and suspended
As willows bended wide for
Sacred green
My long hair blows in a Caribbean breeze
A life of ease, I do as I please
If only to appease the universe
While teasing the absurd
With my arsenal of words
As substantial points fall upon deaf ears
Grieve your years, beautiful lamb
Sacrificial and damned
I will be here in the green

Artist's Description

This piece is a very personal dedication and message told against a very dream-like, ethereal background. Inspired by my recent attendance to the ballet performance of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
