Awareness is not enough - promote Autism Acceptance

“Acceptance is not love.
You love a person because he or she has lovable traits, but you accept everybody just because they’re alive and human.” ~ Dr. Albert Ellis

I am dedicated to the Autism Acceptance movement; supporting the empowerment of autistic individuals, encouraging self-advocacy and promoting my fundamental belief that:

All persons are worthy of appreciation and respect without discrimination as to abilities, age, culture, education, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, nationality, race, religious beliefs, political opinions, sexual orientation or socio-economic class.

The idea of changing the public, private and not-for profit sector emphasis from “autism awareness” to Autism Acceptance will need the dedication and organization of many individuals to make this cause a reality. We believe that everyone can agree that Autism Acceptance is needed in our society to improve the lives of individuals living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
