This year for the second time, the Toronto Historic Distillery District is hosting a Lowe’s Christmas Market. The Distillery District is a area in the south end of the city about 2 blocks south of Front St. with Parliament St. as the nearest main intersection. The District comprises over 50 very well preserved brick buildings that once housed the Gooderham and Worts distillery and now houses several upscale studios, craft shops and boutiques, several restaurants, a theatre with a resident company and, yes, a microbrewery. From early December until the 18th of the month this year, it is also home to a large, colourful and entertaining Christmas Market, featuring not only a large number of vendor “huts” on all of the streets in the district, but also live on stage entertainment, a huge, beautifully decorated Christmas tree, Santa, costumed carollers a small ferris wheel and this carousel.
