I spent the first weekend in October in 2009 on a camera club outing to Algonquin Park, ON, Canada. Though this huge park (it’s bigger than Canada’s smallest province, PEI) is only a few hundred miles from my home here in Toronto, ON, I’d never been there before, so it was a new experience for me. It was also a big step out of both my personal and photographic comfort zones! As a senior citizen newbie to often steep, uneven, rugged and slippery trail hiking, I literally needed to have my hand held by a kind fellow photographer, or I’d probably have broken my neck and/or my camera! My 2 friends and I spotted this little fox in tall grass near a store in the park. This was my first time of getting so close to a wild animal outside a zoo, so I was especially delighted to get a couple of decent shots of him or her.
